UN Essay Contest and Scholarship Information

The annual UNA Essay contest is on a different global topic each year.  The 2001 topic was on infectious diseases; the 2002 topic was global warming. National prizes for the contest range from $500 to $1000. 

The national calendar looks like this:

	National UNA announces topic in September or October
	Local chapters receive contest application packages by November or December
	Contest deadlines locally are in early April
	Contest deadlines nationally are in late April
	National awards announced in June
	National awards ceremony in July

Students interested in the contest should submit entries to the Michigan Division of the UNA-USA at the address below:

Each local UNA chapter submits one entry to the national contest level. The Division also sponsors one entry to the national level (making up to 8 Michigan submissions competing at the national level).
