Educational Value

What do students learn through Model UN?

To begin, they learn essential skills in critical thinking, reading, writing, public speaking, research, teamwork, leadership, consensus-building, compromise, and strategy-building.  In addition, they learn about politics and governments, global issues, and other cultures.  And most Model UNs are run as an extra-curricular, in addition to a student's regular classes!

College and universities see Model UN as a program equal to debate, forensics, or National Honor Society on college applications.

Several studies have been conducted on the value of Model UN for high school students.
